The Sha Tin District Office (STDO) announced today (September 30) that it will join forces with the Sha Tin Police District (STPD) and the East Division of New Territories Command of the Fire Services Department (FSD) to launch S-Teamer tomorrow (October 1). The programme will provide more diverse community activities to Sha Tin residents.

After the launch of S-Teamer, the three departments will continue to organise regular activities for their respective organisations while jointly initiating new projects, including "Ace Your Exams" webinars for secondary students in the district, free cardiopulmonary resuscitation training courses and an S-Teamer logo design competition to be rolled out in the fourth quarter this year. The three departments will also organise special annual signature projects such as visits to the police training school, Lo Wu Correctional Institution and the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy in a bid to forge a united community and build a caring neighbourhood.

The spokesperson for the STPD said, "There are over 13 000 Junior Police Call (JPC) members and over 350 Senior Police Call (SPC) members in the STPD. We hope that district resources can be shared through this programme for members to have a chance to participate in additional activities organised by the STDO and the East Division of New Territories Command of the FSD, which will provide the members with wonderful community experience and help them expand their social network and realise personal potential."

The spokesperson for the East Division of New Territories Command of the FSD said, "The FSD has been promoting the Fire Safety Ambassador (FSA) Scheme. Training volunteers from all walks of life to become FSAs or FSA Trainers helps disseminate fire protection messages in the community. At present, 14 000 FSAs are serving the community in Sha Tin District. Having regard to our recent co-operation with the STDO, we saw room for further collaboration and hope to serve the community in a more diverse way through the programme."
