The following is issued on behalf of the Independent Committee in relation to the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po:
The Independent Committee in relation to the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po notes that today (October 29) the Government has released the redacted version of the Committee's report.
The Committee notes that having sought legal advice, the Government has redacted certain parts of the report that may cause undue prejudice (actual or perceived) to the relevant criminal prosecutions. At the invitation of the Government, the redacted report has been uploaded to the website of the Committee (www.ic-wangfukcourtfire.gov.hk/eng/report.html). The Committee notes that the Government will release the full report after all relevant criminal legal proceedings have been concluded.
