Justice Minister Naomi Long has welcomed the appointment of Jacqui Durkin as Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland (PONI) and thanked her for her six-and-a-half-year tenure as Chief Inspector of the Criminal Justice Inspection for Northern Ireland (CJINI).

First Minister Michelle O’Neill and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly have today announced the appointment of Jacqui Durkin as the new Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.

The Health Minister has today welcomed the publication of the final report of the Urology Services Inquiry.

Health Minister Mike Nesbitt said: “I am disappointed that Consultants and Specialist and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors across Northern Ireland proceeding with industrial action from 7am on Thursday 25 June until 7am on Friday 26 June. Resident doctors will also take part in a 24-hour industrial action on Monday 29 June.
