Latest arrangements on Hongkong Post services

     In view of the Government’s announcement today (July 19) on the special work arrangements for government employees as well as the instructions on suspension of most of the counter services so as to reduce the flow of people and social contacts in the community, Hongkong Post today (July 19) announced the arrangements on Hongkong Post services from July 20 to 26.
      
     All post offices (including mobile post office) will be suspended from service, but mail delivery service will be provided twice a week while Speedpost delivery and posting box collection will be provided on alternate days.
      
     As a result of the above special arrangements, services of local and inbound mail will be subject to delay. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Housing Authority announces special arrangements for public service

The following press release is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority
    
     In response to Government’s announcement that special work arrangements for government departments will be implemented starting from tomorrow (July 20) until July 26 tentatively, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) announced today (July 19) that the following arrangements will be implemented until July 26 to provide emergency and essential services to members of the public:
 

  • All Estate Management Offices (EMOs) of public housing estates will be open from 10am to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to provide essential management services for public housing estates and handle cases with prior appointments. For enquiries outside the opening hours, residents may call the contact telephone numbers provided by the respective EMOs, and staff will render assistance as much as practicable. EMOs’ shroff offices will be closed. Residents are advised to pay heed to the notices placed at the EMOs. They can also pay rent at more than 1 000 locations, such as convenience stores and supermarkets. They may also make payments via the Payment by Phone Service (PPS).   • All subsidised housing offices will be temporarily closed (including Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Sales Unit and White Form Secondary Market Scheme Unit in Lok Fu Customer Service Centre, Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Scheme (GSH) Sales Unit in Kwun Tong, HOS Secondary Market Scheme Unit and Home Assistance Loan Unit in Lung Cheung Office Block, Wong Tai Sin as well as other offices of related services). Flat selection sessions of Sale of GSH Flats 2019 scheduled on and after July 20 are suspended. We will individually inform all concerned applicants;
 
  • All public rental housing application offices including Lok Fu Customer Service Centre Office and Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre will be closed. All detailed vetting interviews will also be suspended until further notice. We will individually inform all concerned applicants;
     
  • Clearance Housing office and Redevelopment Sub-section offices (Pak Tin & Mei Tung) as well as Public Housing Resources Management Sub-section will also be closedï¼›
     
  • The Shroff Office on the Ground Floor of the HA Headquarters will be open from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4pm from Monday to Friday to provide limited services. All payment collection services (including premium payments by Subsidised Sale Flats Scheme owners to enable them to complete transactions of their flats) with the exception of rental payment collection will be in operation.
     
     In addition, due to the above work arrangement, the HA may not be able to reply to public enquiries, request or complaints in a timely manner. For enquiries, please call HA hotline 2712 2712. read more

Official Receiver’s Office to provide limited public services starting from July 20

     To align with the special work arrangement announced by the Government today (July 19) to provide emergency services and essential public services starting from tomorrow (July 20) in order to significantly reduce the flow of people and social contacts to stop COVID-19 from further spreading in the community, the Official Receiver’s Office (ORO) announced today that it will provide limited basic public services to members of the public from tomorrow until further notice as follows:
 
     All offices of the ORO will be open between 9.30am and 12.30pm and between 2pm and 4pm from Monday to Friday. The waiting and processing times for the services provided by the ORO may be longer as the provision of services will be scaled down. Members of the public are urged to come forward for the services only when such services are urgently required.
 
     To achieve social distancing with a view to reducing the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the community, members of the public are encouraged to avoid coming to the offices of the ORO as far as possible. For the delivery of documents to the ORO, the public may make use of the ORO’s designated drop box on the Deck Floor of Queensway Government Offices. They can also make use of the electronic services of the ORO and contact the ORO by:
 
(a) telephone (hotline number: 2867 2448);
(b) email (oroadmin@oro.gov.hk); or
(c) fax (fax number: 3105 1814).
 
     Members of the public who have appointments with the ORO will be notified of an alternate appointment date as soon as possible.
 
     As for the meetings of creditors, meetings of contributories and adjournment thereof, those scheduled to be held on or after tomorrow (July 20) will be convened as scheduled. To avoid contagion of the disease by personal contact, creditors are recommended to lodge their proxy with the ORO by way of fax at 3105 1814 and avoid attending a meeting in person. The proxy forms can be accessed at the ORO’s website (www.oro.gov.hk/eng/pforms/pforms.htm). Members of the public are also advised not to attend such meetings unless it is absolutely necessary.
