Latest arrangements for Marine Department services

     In light of the announcement by the Government today (August 6) that the special work arrangements for government employees will be extended for one week until August 16, a spokesman for the Marine Department (MD) announced that the licensing and port formalities services at the Yau Ma Tei Marine Office, the Tuen Mun Marine Office, the Sai Kung Marine Office, the Tai Po Marine Office, the Aberdeen Marine Office, the Cheung Chau Marine Office and the Shau Kei Wan Marine Office; the seafarers’ examination and certification services; mercantile marine services; and local vessel surveying and enquiry services will continue to be suspended until August 16. Those who have made an appointment for services or examinations will be separately informed of alternative arrangements.

     Services at the Central Marine Office and other services provided by the MD will remain unaffected. read more

Special arrangements for ICAC services to be extended

The following press release is issued on behalf of the Independent Commission Against Corruption:

     In light of the extension of the Government’s measures to reduce the flow of people and social contacts in order to stop COVID-19 from further spreading in the community, the ICAC today (August 6) announced that the current special arrangements of the Commission’s services will be further extended until August 16.

     During the period, except those who are required to provide essential and emergency public services, all other ICAC staff will work from home so as to reduce the flow of people and social contacts in the community.

     Meanwhile, the ICAC’s Report Centre and the report corruption hotline (2526 6366) will continue to operate round-the-clock to receive corruption complaints and enquiries. All other enquiry hotlines, including the Corruption Prevention Advisory Service hotline (2526 6363), Business Ethics Development Centre hotline (2826 3288), Clean Elections hotline (2920 7878) and the Integrity Building Management hotline (2929 4555) will also maintain their normal operation.

     All ICAC Regional Offices will be closed during the period. read more

EDB’s latest public service arrangements

     In view of the extension of special work arrangements for government employees until August 16, a spokesman for the Education Bureau (EDB) announced today (August 6) that all Regional Education Offices and the Joint Office for Kindergartens and Child Care Centres will continue to provide emergency services and essential public services during this period.

     The spokesman reminded members of the public who need these services to contact the service units concerned by phone in advance.

     As for the appointments already made for the audiological services at the Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre, officers of the EDB will contact the parents concerned for appropriate arrangements.

     The School Places Allocation Section will continue to provide limited hotline services to handle enquiries.

     When the circumstances permit, the Teacher Registration Team will invite applicants to proceed with necessary procedures in due course. New teachers taking up teaching posts in the new school year would not be affected in principle.

     Regarding the following public facilities/units of the EDB, they will remain closed to the public temporarily until further notice:

1. Hong Kong Teachers’ Centre, Special Education Resource Centre, Central Resources Centre and Young Achievers’ Gallery located at Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre;
2. Arts and Technology Education Centre (including STEM Education Centre);
3. School Places Allocation Section;
4. Qualifications Framework Secretariat; and
5. Teacher Registration Team. read more
