Since around 8.30pm today (September 6), violent protestors have committed destructive acts extensively inside and outside Mong Kok MTR Station and Prince Edward MTR Station. They smashed CCTV cameras and turnstiles, and damaged fire facilities therein. Radical protestors blocked roads in Mong Kok and started fires recklessly on Shan Tung Street, the junction of Nathan Road and Dundas Street, and the junction of Argyle Street and Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Such acts seriously endanger public safety.

Police are using appropriate force to conduct a dispersal operation, and warn the protestors to stop all illegal acts and leave immediately. Residents in the vicinity are advised to stay tuned to the latest situation, stay indoors and keep their windows shut, if necessary. Members of the public should avoid travelling to the area.
