Thirty-three building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 33 building plans in November, with nine on Hong Kong Island, 12 in Kowloon and 12 in the New Territories.
 
     Of the approved plans, 16 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, nine were for factory and industrial developments, and four were for community services developments.
 
     In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 14 building projects which, when completed, will provide 106 379 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1 495 units, and 136 794 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for 13 building projects.
 
     The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with five on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.
 
     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 68 162 sq m involving 1 295 units, and 40 350 sq m was for non-domestic use.
 
     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $4.4 billion.
 
     In addition, 12 demolition consents involving 12 building structures were issued.
 
     The department received 3 036 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in November and issued 1 180 removal orders on UBWs.
