Appointment to Deposit Protection Appeals Tribunal

     The Government announced today (March 26) the Chief Executive’s appointment of Mr Charles Peter Manzoni, SC, as the Chairman of the Deposit Protection Appeals Tribunal (the Tribunal) for a term of three years with effect from April 1, 2021.
 
     A Government spokesperson said, “We thank Mr Anthony Kenneth Houghton, SC, the outgoing Chairman, for his service and contribution in the past years. We are confident that Mr Manzoni, with his expertise and experience, will contribute to the effective operation of the Tribunal.”
 
     The Tribunal is established under the Deposit Protection Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 581) to hear appeals from depositors or member banks of the Deposit Protection Scheme who are aggrieved by certain decisions made by the Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board or the Monetary Authority in relation to the Scheme.

Proposed road works at Yuen Long South gazetted

     The Government gazetted today (March 26) the proposed road works to provide infrastructure necessary for the planned developments during the initial stage at Yuen Long South.

     Details of the proposal are set out in the Annex. The plan and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

  • By post or by hand to the Transport and Housing Bureau’s drop-in box No. 6 located at the entrance on 2/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. The box is available for use between 8am and 7pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays);
  • By fax to 2868 4643; or
  • By email to gazettethb@thb.gov.hk.

     A notice of objection should describe the objector’s interest and the manner in which he or she alleges that he or she will be affected by the works or the use. Objectors are requested to provide contact details to facilitate communication. Proposed lift and pedestrian walkway system at Saddle Ridge Garden in Ma On Shan gazetted

     The Government gazetted today (March 26) the proposed construction of a lift and pedestrian walkway system connecting Saddle Ridge Garden and Sai Sha Road to provide a safe, comfortable and convenient pedestrian link.

     Details of the proposal are set out in the Annex. The plans and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

Proposed footbridges at Tai Chung Road and Hoi Shing Road in Tsuen Wan gazetted

     The Government gazetted today (March 26) the proposed construction of three covered footbridges to connect existing footbridges on Tai Chung Road and Hoi Shing Road and to extend the footbridge network in the western part of Tsuen Wan town centre.
