ExCo Non-official Members congratulate Chan Ho-yuen on winning medal at Paris Paralympics

The following is issued on behalf of the Executive Council Secretariat:
 
     Non-official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo Non-official Members) today (September 3) expressed their warmest congratulations to Hong Kong athlete Chan Ho-yuen for winning a silver medal in the Badminton Men’s Singles WH2 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Chan’s coaches and the badminton team.
      
     The Convenor of ExCo Non-official Members, Mrs Regina Ip, said, “Chan Ho-yuen, with his great determination and perseverance, has worked hard to achieve breakthroughs over the years. After winning a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, he took another step forward by capturing a silver medal in this year’s Games. His outstanding performance demonstrated the striving spirit of Hong Kong athletes. We are proud of his achievement.”
      
     ExCo Non-official Members hope that the Hong Kong, China Delegation will continue to shine in the Paralympic Games. read more

SCST congratulates Chan Ho-yuen on winning silver medal at Paris Paralympics

     The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung today (September 3) congratulated Hong Kong badminton athlete Chan Ho-yuen on winning a silver medal in Men’s Badminton Singles WH2 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
      
     Mr Yeung said, “We all witnessed the hard work of Chan Ho-yuen. All the athletes went all out and strived for excellence in the international sporting arena. Their perseverance is worth learning.”
           
     The Hong Kong, China Delegation has so far won six medals, namely two gold, three silver and one bronze, at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The details are as follows:

CE congratulates Chan Ho-yuen on winning medal at Paris Paralympics

     Hong Kong badminton athlete Chan Ho-yuen today (September 2, Paris Time) won the silver medal in the Men’s Singles WH2 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. This is the sixth medal won by the Hong Kong, China Delegation at this year’s Paralympic Games. The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Chan Ho-yuen and his coaches.
      
     “Chan Ho-yuen demonstrated his outstanding skills and exceptional determination in the competition, eventually achieving his goal of getting a better result compared with the last Paralympic Games. His silver medal is well-deserved.
      
     “Good news comes one after another from the Hong Kong, China Delegation at this year’s Paralympic Games, making all Hong Kong people and I thrilled and proud. I call on members of the public to continue to follow the latest updates about the delegation and support Hong Kong athletes,” Mr Lee said.

They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ho’s coaches and her team.

     The Convenor of ExCo Non-official Members, Mrs Regina Ip, said, “As a veteran player, Ho Yuen-kei showed great perseverance in the competitions. With her exceptional skills, she captured a gold medal in this year’s Paralympic Games. We are very delighted by her achievement.”
