The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Caspar Tsui, today (September 20) extended his warmest congratulations to Hong Kong fencing athletes on achieving excellent results by winning a bronze medal at the 14th National Games of the People's Republic of China held in Shaanxi Province.
Fencers Cheung Siu-lun, Ryan Choi and Yeung Chi-ka won a bronze medal in the Men's Foil Team Event. It is the second time that Hong Kong athletes won a medal in the same event since the previous Games.
Mr Tsui said, "Going through tough training, the athletes performed outstandingly at the National Games and achieved excellence for Hong Kong. People of Hong Kong will take pride in them. I wish Hong Kong athletes success in the following competitions."
