Security guard and guard supervisor employed by Housing Department contractor at Oi Man Estate and Yat Tung (II) Estate test positive or preliminarily positive for COVID-19

     The Housing Department yesterday (February 8) learned that a security guard employed by its contractor at Oi Man Estate had tested positive for COVID-19 and a guard supervisor employed by another contractor at Yat Tung (II) Estate had tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. 

     The security guard is now in hospital for treatment. He normally works on the middle shift of the roster, and is responsible for patrolling and manning the tower guard counter at domestic blocks of Oi Man Estate. He last performed duties on February 6. He has no recent travel history. He has been wearing face masks and observing relevant disease prevention measures at work. 

     The guard supervisor is responsible for security service at Yat Tung (II) Estate. She last performed duties on February 7. She has no recent travel history. She has been wearing face masks and observing relevant disease prevention measures at work.

     The common areas, the security control room and estate office of Oi Man Estate and the Property Services Management Office of Yat Tung (II) Estate had been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP). All staff working in the same offices were recommended to take the COVID-19 test.

     The Housing Department will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP and co-operate with its disease prevention measures and quarantine work.
