Rioters set fires at multiple locations in Kowloon.

They set barricades in Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei and Prince Edward with debris, and set them on fire. The flames reached few meters in height at the junction of Waterloo Road and Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei. At Shantung Street in Mong Kok, rioters set a traffic light controller cabinet ablaze.  Multiple explosions were heard. Some rioters also broke into shops in Mong Kok and Prince Edward to inflict extensive damage and start fires.

Fires set by rioters seriously affect personal safety of members of the public. Indoor fires can quickly get out of control and burn residents living above the shops.  Police condemn the act of the mob.
