Attention duty announcers, radio and TV stations:

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

A public procession kicked off in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay this afternoon (July 21) and the participants reached the finishing point in Wan Chai at around 4.30pm. Many participants continued to proceed to Admiralty and blocked the carriageways of Harcourt Road at around 5pm. It causes danger to the participants themselves and all road users, and leads to serious traffic congestion.

Police appeal to all participants to mind their own safety and stay on pavements. Participants should avoid staying in nearby areas and take public transport to leave as soon as possible.

For participants who are still on their way to the finishing point of the public procession, please leave via Queen’s Road East or Wan Chai Road towards Happy Valley after arrival.

The traffic along Admiralty and Central has been paralysed while the traffic in Sheung Wan is very congested. Police appeal to members of the public and drivers to avoid travelling to the vicinity.
