Inter-departmental search and rescue operation for Police officer falling into sea when performing duty

     A Marine Police vessel overturned when performing duty at the waters near Sha Chau at around 8.20am today (September 25) and four officers onboard fell to the sea.

     The Marine Police, the Fire Services Department and the Government Flying Service conducted search and rescue operation at scene. Three officers were rescued and sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment in conscious state.

     Police and relevant departments continue to conduct the search and rescue operation for a police officer.

     After initial investigation, the case is classified as “Maritime Search and Rescue”.
