Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long this afternoon (January 28) in which a 76-year-old man died.

     At about 12.45pm, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by a 65-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Road – Ping Shan towards Tuen Mun. While turning left to Tong Yan San Tsuen Road, it reportedly knocked down the 76-year-old man who was riding the bicycle along the pavement next to Castle Peak Road – Ping Shan towards Tuen Mun.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the 76-year-old man was certified dead at scene.

     The HGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
