Fatal traffic accident in Stanley

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Stanley last night (December 1) in which a 41-year-old man died.

     At 8.14pm, a motorcycledriven by the 41-year-old man was travelling along Tai Tam Road towards Chai Wan. When approaching the roundabout at Shek O, the motorcycle reportedly had a head-on collision with a private car driven by a 61-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction.

     Sustaining serious chest and leg injuries, the motorcycle driver was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.59pm.

     The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
