Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong this afternoon (October 17) in which a 55-year-old man died.
At 12.06pm, a taxi driven by the 55-year-old man was travelling along Kwun Tong Bypass towards Eastern Harbour Crossing. When approaching Shing Yip Street, it reportedly rammed into the offside kerb.
The taxi driver collapsed inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining no superficial injury, he was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.45pm.
A 35-year-old female passenger sustained neck injury and refused further hospital treatment after receiving first aid at scene.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
