The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has today published a call for candidates to join the newly established Consultative Working Group (CWG) for ESMA’s Central Counterparties Policy Committee (CCP PC).

The CCP PC-CWG is expected to provide technical assistance and advice to the CCP PC in all aspects of its work and, in particular, on the development of technical standards and guidance in relation to the relevant legislation. It is also expected to assist the CCP PC in assessing the potential impact of proposed technical standards and guidance.

The CCP PC is responsible for preparing ESMA’s technical advice, technical standards, reports and other guidance related to CCP legislation, in particular EMIR and CCP Recovery and Resolution Regulation (CCP RRR).

The CCP PC undertakes ESMA’s work relating to CCPs and focusing on CCP policy matters. The work also involves cooperation with other Standing Committees, established by ESMA’s Board of Supervisors, on related responsibilities and tasks on post-trading, trade repositories and trade reporting.

Interested experts are invited to send their applications to ESMA by 9 April 2021.
