DGCA attends 41st International Civil Aviation Organization Assembly (with photos)

     The Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Victor Liu, has attended the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly at the ICAO Headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

     The triennial Assembly is being attended in person and virtually by representatives from ICAO member states, non-government organisations and regional and industry air transport associations. The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) delegation led by Mr Liu has joined the Assembly as part of the China delegation.

     Under the theme "Reconnecting the World", a total of 56 topics covering aviation safety, air navigation capacity and efficiency, security and facilitation, economic development, technical co-operation, environmental protection and more are being discussed during the Assembly.

     "The 41st ICAO Assembly, which is the largest meeting of the global civil aviation industry since the outbreak of COVID-19, has significant symbolic meaning for the aviation industry recovery. I am pleased to take part in the Assembly to discuss with aviation leaders across the world on the challenges brought about by the pandemic. The CAD will continue to work side by side with industry partners for maintaining aviation safety and the orderly recovery of the aviation industry," Mr Liu said.
 
     Prior to the Assembly, the CAD delegation also attended the ICAO Innovation Fair 2022. During the event, attendees exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities brought about by innovations and the ways to enhance resilience in the aviation industry through innovative technology.
