Correctional officers stopped a person in custody assaulting another person in custody at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (September 18).
At 4.06pm, a 39-year-old male person in custody suddenly attacked a 28-year-old male person in custody while working inside the kitchen. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the assailant.
The victim sustained minor injuries to his head. After examination and treatment by the institution medical officer, he did not need to be sent to public hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The assailant was sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of breach of condition of stay.
