Point Living Design Limited was fined $122,000 at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (December 9) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on March 20, 2021, at a house under renovation in Tai Po. While a solar panel was being lifted from 2/F of the house down to the ground floor, the panel struck a worker nearby. The worker sustained serious head injury and passed away 10 days later.
