The Health Minister Robin Swann and the Chief Medical Officer Dr Michael McBride have expressed their sadness following news of the death of Dr Emer Holohan, wife of Dr Tony Holohan, the Republic of Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer.




New Strategy for care-experienced children and young people published

Health Minister Robin Swann and Education Minister Peter Weir today launched a new joint strategy for care-experienced children and young people.




Additional funding for foster carers

The Health Minister has announced further funding of £754,800 for foster carers bringing the total support provided to them to £1.39million since the start of pandemic.
Foster carers provide care for children looked after by social services teams when they are unable to live with their parent/s. There are currently around 2,600 children and young people in foster or kinship care in Northern Ireland.




Road resurfacing scheme for U1147 Ervy Road, Eglinton

A £145,000 resurfacing scheme on the U1147 Ervy Road, Eglinton is due to commence on 25 February 2021.
