The Town Planning Board today (June 5) announced amendments to the approved Stanley Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of the Maryknoll House site from "Government, Institution or Community" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Residential Development with Historic Building Preserved". Opportunity was also taken to include some technical amendments to the OZP to reflect the latest as-built conditions of the Stanley area and to make associated adjustments to the planning scheme boundary and zoning amendments. Some technical amendments to the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP are also included to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning area, where appropriate.

     The draft Stanley OZP No. S/H19/13, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Hong Kong District Planning Office, and (iv) the Southern Home Affairs Enquiry Centre.
     
     Any person may make written representations in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before August 5. Any person who intends to make a representation is advised to read the revised Town Planning Board Guidelines No. 29B on "Submission and Publication of Representations, Comments on Representations and Further Representations under the Town Planning Ordinance" (TPB PG-No. 29B) which were promulgated in November 2018 and took effect in 2019.

     Submission of a representation should comply with the requirements set out in TPB PG-No. 29B. In particular, the representer should take note of the following:
 
* If the representer fails to provide his or her full name and the first four alphanumeric characters of his or her Hong Kong identity card or passport number as required under TPB PG-No. 29B, the representation submitted shall be treated as not having been made; and
* The Secretariat of the Town Planning Board reserves the right to require the representer to provide identity proof for verification.

     Copies of the draft Stanley OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).

     The Government Property Agency is inviting tenders for a three-year tenancy of the government canteen on portions of the ninth floor, Kowloon East Regional Headquarters and Operational Base-cum-Ngau Tau Kok Divisional Police Station, 105 Concorde Road, Kai Tak, Kowloon, for canteen purpose only.

     The tender notice was uploaded today (June 5) to the Agency's website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 9/F, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, during the period from 9am to 6pm from Mondays to Fridays, except public holidays. The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency's website.

     Interested tenderers who wish to attend a site inspection should make a prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 3842 6777 on or before June 16 this year.

     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box situated on the Ground Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, before noon on June 29 this year. Late tenders will not be accepted.

     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by Ping An OneConnect Bank (Hong Kong) Limited on suspicious mobile applications (Apps), which has been reported to the HKMA.
      
     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the Apps concerned or has conducted any financial transactions through the Apps should contact the bank concerned, and report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.

     A 51-year-old man was sentenced to immediate imprisonment for four weeks by the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today (June 5) for violating the Compulsory Quarantine of Certain Persons Arriving at Hong Kong Regulation (Cap. 599C).

     The man was earlier issued a compulsory quarantine order stating that he must conduct quarantine at home for 14 days. Before the expiry of the quarantine order, he left the place of quarantine without reasonable excuse nor permission given by an authorised officer and was stopped by staff of the Immigration Department at Shenzhen Bay Control Point on February 23. He was charged with contravening sections 8(4) and 8(5) of the Regulation and was sentenced by the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today to immediate imprisonment for four weeks.

     A spokesman for the Department of Health (DH) said the sentence sends a clear message to the community that breaching a quarantine order is a criminal offence and that the Government will not tolerate such actions. The spokesman reiterated that compliance with quarantine orders is of paramount importance in Hong Kong's fight against COVID-19.

     Pursuant to the Regulation, save for exempted persons, all persons who have stayed in the Mainland, Macao or Taiwan in the 14 days preceding arrival in Hong Kong, regardless of their nationality or travel documents, will be subject to compulsory quarantine for 14 days. Moreover, pursuant to the Compulsory Quarantine of Persons Arriving at Hong Kong from Foreign Places Regulation (Cap. 599E), starting from March 19, all persons arriving from countries or territories outside China would also be subject to compulsory quarantine for 14 days. Breaching a quarantine order is a criminal offence and offenders are subject to a maximum fine of $25,000 and imprisonment for six months. The DH solemnly reminds persons under quarantine to comply with the statutory requirements and conduct quarantine for 14 days.

     To assist Secondary Six graduates to prepare for the release of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination results on July 22, the Education Bureau (EDB) has produced the "Three useful tools for the release of the HKDSE Examination results", namely e-Navigator, Further Studies and Career Map, and Compass@HKDSE. These tools, uploaded to the EDB website today (June 5), allow graduates, parents and schools to obtain useful information in a timely manner.
      
     Graduates, parents and schools can use the e-Navigator to search for programme information across different levels, including degrees, sub-degrees and the Diploma Yi Jin. The Further Studies and Career Map provides a checklist of multiple pathways and key dates for course registration which reminds graduates to take necessary actions accordingly. The Compass@HKDSE provides graduates with essential information to make better preparation for the release of the HKDSE Examination results. It includes information on further studies, multiple pathways and various supporting services.
      
     A spokesman for the EDB said, "The broad and balanced senior secondary curriculum provides diversified choices to cater for students' different interests, abilities and needs. It promotes whole-person development, stretches students' potential fully and equips them with lifelong learning capabilities by the time of graduation. We hope that all graduates will make good use of the 'Three useful tools', together with the flexible and diversified study and career pathways with multiple entry and exit points under the New Academic Structure, to choose their right directions according to their interests, needs and aptitudes, so as to develop their full potential and realise their aspirations."
      
     The EDB will continue to maintain close communication and collaboration with schools and other stakeholders to help students plan for their future. For the date of release of the HKDSE Examination results, schools are advised to refer to the latest announcements on the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority website (www.hkeaa.edu.hk/en/).
