The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:

     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA on fraudulent website, which has been reported to the HKMA. Hyperlink to the press release is available on the HKMA website for ease of reference by members of the public.
 
     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website concerned or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact the bank concerned using the contact information provided in the press release, and report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.
 




Temporary closure of Kwai Shing Swimming Pool

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 5) that due to maintenance works on water mains, the Kwai Shing Swimming Pool in Kwai Tsing District has been temporarily closed.
 
     It will be reopened at 6.30am tomorrow (June 6).




Hong Kong’s latest foreign currency reserve assets figures released

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
 
     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (June 5) that the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to US$442.3 billion as at the end of May 2020 (end-April 2020: US$441.3 billion) (Annex).
 
     Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of May 2020 amounted to US$440.8 billion (end-April 2020: US$440.8 billion).
 
     The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$442.3 billion represent over six times the currency in circulation or about 46 per cent of Hong Kong dollar M3.

     At present, four press releases relating to the Exchange Fund's data are issued by the HKMA each month. Three of these releases are issued to disseminate monetary data in accordance with the International Monetary Fund's Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS). The fourth press release, on the Exchange Fund's Abridged Balance Sheet and Currency Board Account, is made in accordance with the HKMA's policy of maintaining a high level of transparency. Effective Exchange Rate Index

     The effective exchange rate index for the Hong Kong dollar on Friday, June 5, 2020 is 107.9 (down 0.6 against yesterday's index).




Approved Stanley Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (June 5) announced amendments to the approved Stanley Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of the Maryknoll House site from "Government, Institution or Community" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Residential Development with Historic Building Preserved". Opportunity was also taken to include some technical amendments to the OZP to reflect the latest as-built conditions of the Stanley area and to make associated adjustments to the planning scheme boundary and zoning amendments. Some technical amendments to the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP are also included to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning area, where appropriate.

     The draft Stanley OZP No. S/H19/13, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Hong Kong District Planning Office, and (iv) the Southern Home Affairs Enquiry Centre.
     
     Any person may make written representations in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before August 5. Any person who intends to make a representation is advised to read the revised Town Planning Board Guidelines No. 29B on "Submission and Publication of Representations, Comments on Representations and Further Representations under the Town Planning Ordinance" (TPB PG-No. 29B) which were promulgated in November 2018 and took effect in 2019.

     Submission of a representation should comply with the requirements set out in TPB PG-No. 29B. In particular, the representer should take note of the following:
 
* If the representer fails to provide his or her full name and the first four alphanumeric characters of his or her Hong Kong identity card or passport number as required under TPB PG-No. 29B, the representation submitted shall be treated as not having been made; and
* The Secretariat of the Town Planning Board reserves the right to require the representer to provide identity proof for verification.
 
     The Guidelines and the submission form are available at locations (i) and (ii) above and the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
