Missing man in Kwai Chung located

     A man who went missing in Kwai Chung has been located.

     Wong Cho-wah, aged 39, went missing after he left his residence in Shek Lei (II) Estate on March 3 afternoon. His family made a report to Police on the next day.

     The man returned to his residence on March 8 night. He sustained no injuries and no suspicious circumstances were detected.




EMSD announces test results of LPG quality in February 2021

     â€‹The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (March 10) announced that the department collected 10 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) samples from auto-LPG filling stations and LPG terminals on a random basis in February 2021 for laboratory tests. The results show that the LPG quality of all these samples complied with auto-LPG specifications.
 
     The detailed test results are available on the EMSD's website (www.emsd.gov.hk/en/rl/lpg_sample_analysis_simple). Enquiries can also be made to the EMSD's hotline on 2333 3762.
      
     In addition, the EMSD has been vetting independent third-party test reports submitted by LPG supply companies for each shipment to ensure that the quality of imported LPG complies with the specified requirements.




Queen Elizabeth Hospital announces passing away of COVID-19 patient

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) today (March 10) announced that a patient confirmed with COVID-19 passed away today.
 
     An 86-year-old female patient (case number: 10953) with chronic diseases attended the Accident and Emergency Department of QEH on February 25 due to pneumonia. She subsequently tested positive for COVID-19, and was admitted to the isolation ward for treatment. Her condition continued to deteriorate and she eventually succumbed at 9.30am today.
 
     The hospital is saddened about the passing away of the patient and would offer necessary assistance to her family.
 
     Including the above patient, 197 COVID-19 confirmed patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.

Import of poultry meat and products from Slagelse Municipality in Denmark suspended

     The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department announced today (March 10) that in view of a notification from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration about an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N8 avian influenza in Slagelse Municipality in Denmark, the CFS has instructed the trade to suspend the import of poultry meat and products (including poultry eggs) from the above-mentioned area with immediate effect to protect public health in Hong Kong.

     A CFS spokesman said that according to the Census and Statistics Department, Hong Kong imported about 1 640 tonnes of chilled and frozen poultry meat and about 1.33 million poultry eggs from Denmark last year.

     "The CFS has contacted the Danish authority over the issues and will closely monitor information issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health and the relevant authorities on the avian influenza outbreaks. Appropriate action will be taken in response to the development of the situation," the spokesman said.
