“ICH Infinity∞” Fun Day temporarily suspended

      As the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is now in force, the "ICH Infinity∞" Fun Day to be held at the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre (at Sam Tung Uk Museum, Tsuen Wan) today (June 15) will be temporarily suspended. Members of the public are advised not to visit. 
      
     Depending on the weather condition, the "ICH Infinity∞" Fun Day may re-open where circumstances permit. Please pay attention to the relevant news announcement.




Red flag hoisted at Butterfly Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 15) that according to the Beach Water Quality Forecast System of the Environmental Protection Department (www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/water/beach_quality/forecast_system.html), the Beach Water Quality Forecast Index for Butterfly Beach in Tuen Mun District is 4, which means the predicted water quality at this beach is "Very Poor" due to potential transient water quality fluctuations caused by heavy rain. The red flag has been hoisted, and beachgoers are advised not to enter the water to safeguard their health.




Lifesaving services suspended at Hap Mun Bay Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 15) that as lifeguards are unable to go to Hap Mun Bay Beach in Sai Kung District by ferries due to inclement weather, lifesaving services at the beach has been suspended. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at this beach until further notice.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 15) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at South Bay Beach, Deep Water Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Silver Mine Bay Beach and Pui O Beach in Islands District; and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.




Drone tech boosts efficiency

     The Government recently launched the first batch of low-altitude economy Regulatory Sandbox pilot projects and under this framework, CLP Power's drone team began a beyond-visual-line-of-sight pilot scheme to inspect overhead lines at a test site in Sai Kung.

     News.gov.hk spoke to the company's representative to learn more about the details of its pilot scheme, while a Civil Aviation Department Operations Officer shared how the Government's legislative amendments can facilitate the development of a low-altitude economy in Hong Kong.
