No. 3 alarm fire in waters at Aberdeen South Typhoon Shelter (4)

      A No. 3 alarm fire broke out at 16 vessels in waters at Aberdeen South Typhoon Shelter today (June 27) at 2.34am, and was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 4.44am. The fire was surrounded at 7.32am, put under control at 8.08am and largely put out at 8.40am.

      Firemen used 11 fire boat monitors, eight jets, and mobilised four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze.

      One person felt unwell and was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.

    A fire broke out on a vessel in waters at Aberdeen South Typhoon Shelter at 2.34am today (June 27). The Fire Services Department is conducting a firefighting operation.

     There is heavy smoke at the scene. Although the air quality data collected at the air monitoring station in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island has not shown any abnormality for the time being, members of the public on Hong Kong Island, in particular, in the Southern District, may still be affected by the smoke and unusual odour carried by the wind. Hence, members of the public are advised to close their doors and windows if necessary, and stay calm.
