Red flag hoisted at Lido Beach and Casam Beach

     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (October 18) that the Environmental Protection Department has classified the water quality at Lido Beach in Tsuen Wan District as Grade 4, which means the beach is not suitable for swimming. The red flag has been hoisted at Lido Beach and Casam Beach. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches until further notice.




Process Review Panel in relation to the Regulation of Mandatory Provident Fund Intermediaries publishes 2021 Annual Report

     The Process Review Panel in relation to the Regulation of Mandatory Provident Fund Intermediaries (PRP-MPFi) published its 2021 Annual Report today (October 18), covering the work of the PRP-MPFi during the review cycle from May 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021.

     The Chairman of the PRP-MPFi, Mr Eugene Fung, SC, said, "The PRP-MPFi reviewed in detail nine cases relating to the conduct of Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) intermediaries during the current review cycle. Leveraging on the diverse background and wealth of knowledge of our members, the PRP-MPFi made a number of suggestions to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) in the 2021 Annual Report for further enhancing the regulatory regime in respect of MPF intermediaries."
 
     He added, "I am pleased to note the MPFA's positive responses to our recommendations. The PRP-MPFi counts on the commitment of the MPFA to continuously improving its internal procedures and guidelines for the betterment of the regulatory regime."

Red flags hoisted at some beaches

     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (October 18) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at Stanley Main Beach, Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island, and Silverstrand Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.




Missing man in Tin Sum located

     A man who went missing in Tin Sum has been located.

     Lam Chi-wang, aged 31, went missing after he left his residence in Sha Kok Estate on September 15 night. His friend made a report to Police on September 23.

     The man was located on Tin Shui Road, Tin Shui Wai on October 16.  He sustained no injuries and no suspicious circumstances were detected.
     

 




COVID-19 Vaccination Programme statistics

     â€‹The COVID-19 Vaccination Programme has been implemented for 234 days since February 26, 2021.
 
     So far, about 8 901 700 doses of vaccines have been administered under the Vaccination Programme. Details are as follows:

     In the 24 hours ending at 0.00am today, there were two cases of ambulance transfer to hospital from CVCs. They were sent to hospital after experiencing common side effects after vaccination and were in stable condition. Both of them were discharged.
