48th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to be open March 10 to 13

     The Transport Department today (March 9) reminded members of the public that the 48th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (March 10) to 11.59pm on March 13, and the ballot result will be announced on March 14.

     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by the computer system.

     The Social Welfare Department's Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities through Small Enterprise Project funds non-governmental organisations to set up small enterprises or businesses to provide job opportunities for persons with disabilities. A cafe at the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence is run by one such enterprise, and about 60 per cent of its employees are people with disabilities.
 
     News.gov.hk visited this subsidised cafe to learn more about how it nurtures an inclusive workplace. A representative from the Social Welfare Department explained the aim of the project.

Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.
