     The fire danger situation today (January 25) is yellow and the risk of fire is high. People are urged to prevent fires breaking out and hikers should also be vigilant.




Special announcement on vegetation fires in North District

Attention TV and radio duty announcers:
 
     Please broadcast the following special announcement as soon as possible, and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     A number of vegetation fires broke out in Heung Yuen Wai and Pat Heung in North District, New Territories, tonight (January 24). The Fire Services Department is conducting firefighting operation. 

     Members of the public who are being affected by the smoke and an unusual odour carried by the wind are advised to close their doors and windows and stay calm.




Update on Tuen Mun Hospital missing patient incident

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
 
     Regarding an incident of a patient who left the hospital earlier, the spokesman for Tuen Mun Hospital gave the following update today (January 24):
     
     A 42-year-old male patient who had left the hospital despite dissuasion today afternoon was found in the evening. The hospital will continue follow up his condition.
 
 




Tuen Mun Hospital makes public appeal to help locate missing patient

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesman for Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) made the following appeal today (January 24) regarding a patient who left the hospital despite dissuasion by hospital staff:

     A 42-year-old male patient left a medical and geriatric ward of the TMH despite dissuasion by hospital staff at around 1pm today and walked towards Kei Lun Light Rail Station. TMH is very concerned about the incident and has reported the case to the Police immediately. The hospital will continue to fully co-operate with the Police for the search.

     The patient is about 1.8 meters tall and of medium build, with long black hair tied in a bun. He was wearing a patient shirt, black down jacket, sport pants, slippers, with a black shoulder bag when leaving TMH.

     The hospital appeals to the public to contact Tuen Mun Police Station at 3661 5800 or call 999 if they know the whereabouts of the patient.




Temporary closure of Sham Shui Po Park Swimming Pool

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (January 24) that due to urgent maintenance works, Sham Shui Po Park Swimming Pool in Sham Shui Po District will be temporarily closed from 6.30am tomorrow (January 25) until further notice.
