Suspension of Immigration Services today

     The Immigration Department announced today (September 8) that services at the Immigration Headquarters and all Branch Offices, Registration of Persons Offices and Births, Deaths and Marriage Registries, are suspended today.

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     The Department of Health (DH) today (September 8) announced that, having regard to the Government's announcement about extreme conditions which will continue at least until 6pm, all DH clinics will remain closed this afternoon. Evening dental services will also be suspended except for methadone clinics, which will be open during normal operating hours. 

     Those receiving methadone treatment can attend methadone clinics for their daily dose.

     The public is advised to pay attention to radio and television announcements.




HAD opens additional temporary shelters (2)

     Due to extensive flooding caused by torrential rain, the Home Affairs Department has opened additional temporary shelters for people in need.

Suspension of Customer Service Centre at Customs Headquarters Building due to extreme conditions

     â€‹Hong Kong Customs today (September 8) announced that the Customer Service Centre at 3/F, Customs Headquarters Building, 222 Java Road, North Point, has been suspended until further notice due to the extreme conditions.




Hospital Authority service arrangement

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority announces that its general out-patient clinics, specialist out-patient clinics, allied health services and other day services will be closed this afternoon (September 8) due to bad weather. Patients who have scheduled appointments are advised to make a new appointment later.
      
     The service of Accident and Emergency Department at public hospitals remains normal.
