Typhoon Yagi roundup

     â€‹As Typhoon Yagi is moving away from Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 12.40pm today (September 6). It replaced the No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal at 6.20pm yesterday (September 5).

     The Home Affairs Department has opened 30 temporary shelters in various districts and 274 people have sought refuge.

     As at 12.30pm today, the Fire Services Department, the Government's 1823 Call Centre and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department received 75 reports, 41 reports and three reports of fallen trees respectively. The Drainage Services Department has received one confirmed case of flooding. In addition, one report of landslide has been received.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 12.30pm today, nine people (five men and four women) have been injured during the typhoon period and received medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Department of public hospitals.




Reopening of Lei Yue Mun Sports Centre

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (September 6) that Lei Yue Mun Sports Centre in Kwun Tong District will be reopened at 3pm today.

     The sport centre was temporarily closed earlier on for use as a temporary shelter operated by respective District Offices of the Home Affairs Department.




SENT Landfill Extension to be reopened

     The Environmental Protection Department announced today (September 6) that the South East New Territories (SENT) Landfill Extension at Tseung Kwan O will be reopened at 2pm.




Missing man in Tuen Mun located

     A man who went missing in Tuen Mun has been located.

     Leung Shek-lau, aged 77, went missing after he was last seen at Leung King Estate in the small hours on September 4. His family then made a report to Police.

     The man was located in a hospital on Wing Hong Street in Cheung Sha Wan in the small hours today (September 6). No suspicious circumstances were detected.
