Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach and Silver Mine Bay Beach temporarily closed

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (September 8) that Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach and Silver Mine Bay Beach in Islands District are temporarily closed until further notice for maintenance of shark prevention net. Red flags have been hoisted at these beaches. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.




35th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to be open September 9 to 12

     The Transport Department today (September 8) reminded members of the public that the 35th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (September 9) to 11.59pm on September 12, and the ballot result will be announced on September 13.

     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by the computer system.




Art enchants from the ground up

     The Drainage Services Department's series of limited edition manhole covers, each bearing a coloured design representing a scenic Hong Kong landmark, is aimed at beautifying the city's infrastructure and enchanting pedestrians.
