Liquor Licensing Board to meet on Tuesday

The following is issued on behalf of the Liquor Licensing Board:

     The Liquor Licensing Board will meet on Tuesday (June 3) to consider revocation of the liquor licence of KING'S DELICACY in Tsim Sha Tsui. 

     The meeting will be held at 9.45am in the conference room, Room 102, 1/F, 258 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai. Members of the public are welcome to attend.




54th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to be open June 2 to 5

     The Transport Department today (June 1) reminded members of the public that the 54th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (June 2) to 11.59pm on June 5, and the ballot result will be announced on June 6.

     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated application period.




Smart devices slash water waste

     The Water Supplies Department has commissioned the University of Hong Kong's Centre for Water Technology and Policy to launch the Water-smart Taskforce Programme that helps people to reduce water wastage with the use of artificial intelligence-powered technology. Due to its success so far, over 80 per cent of the first batch of domestic participants have been able to reduce their water consumption.

Red flag hoisted at Ting Kau Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 1) that according to the Beach Water Quality Forecast System of the Environmental Protection Department (www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/water/beach_quality/forecast_system.html), the Beach Water Quality Forecast Index for Ting Kau Beach in Tsuen Wan District is 4, which means the predicted water quality at this beach is "Very Poor" due to potential transient water quality fluctuations caused by heavy rain. The red flag has been hoisted, and beachgoers are advised not to enter the water to safeguard their health.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 1) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District.  Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.
