The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 1) that due to big waves, the red flag has been hoisted at Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.
During the road blockade and charging of Police cordon lines by protestors at Lung Wo Road, Tim Mei Avenue and Harcourt Road, some protestors hurled objects containing unknown liquid at police officers at about 9.30am today (July 1).
Police officers at scene were injured and among them, some experienced difficulty in breathing and had swollen and itchy skin. Thirteen officers were sent to hospital for treatment. The case was taken up by the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau. Police strongly condemn such illegal acts and will stringently follow up.
Police warn protestors to stop using violence and leave as soon as possible. Due to the chaotic situation at present in Wan Chai and Admiralty, Police appeal to the public not to go to these areas for the time being.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 1) that due to big waves, the red flag has been hoisted at Stanley Main Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.
Police advise motorists that special traffic arrangements will be implemented in Sha Tin to facilitate the race meeting today (July 1).
The arrangements will come into effect two hours before the start of the first race and will last until the crowds have dispersed after the race meeting.
Appropriate traffic signs will be put up and police will be on hand to guide motorists.
The Police also appeal to people going to Sha Tin Racecourse for the race meeting and to Happy Valley Racecourse for cross betting to make maximum use of public transport.
Parking spaces at the two racecourses are available only to holders of appropriate permits issued by Hong Kong Jockey Club and any vehicles illegally parked will be towed away.
