Tenders invited for government property tenancy (1)

     The Government Property Agency is inviting tenders for a three-year tenancy of the government property situated on the ground floor (including the yard and cockloft thereof) of 67 Man Nin Street, Sai Kung, New Territories.

     The premises should only be used for the purposes of a shop, provision of services, a restaurant or an office or any combination of them (excluding a cinema and any offensive trade under the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Cap. 132), any regulations made thereunder and any amending legislation).

     The tender notice was uploaded today (July 5) to the Agency's website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 31/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, during office hours (8.30am to 5.45pm from Mondays to Fridays). The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency's website.

     Interested tenderers who wish to inspect the site should make prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 2594 7654 on or before July 18 this year.

     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box situated on the Ground Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, before noon on July 29 this year. Late tenders will not be accepted.
 




Jockey Club Yan Oi Tong Swimming Pool temporarily closed

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 5) that Jockey Club Yan Oi Tong Swimming Pool in Tuen Mun District has been temporarily closed for cleaning and superchlorination following the discovery of a rat in the pool.

     It will be reopened at 1pm today.




Rates and Government rent due July 31

     Demand notes for rates and/or Government rent for the quarter from July to September 2019 have been issued, and payment should be made by July 31, 2019.
 
     The demand notes have reflected the rates concession for this quarter, subject to a ceiling of $1,500 for each rateable tenement. Any unused portion of the concession in this quarter will not be used to offset the outstanding rates in any other quarter. The concession does not apply to payment of Government rent.
              
     Payment can be made:

(1) by using autopay or electronic means (such as PPS, bank automated teller machines or the Internet);
 
(2) by uploading an e-Cheque/e-Cashier's Order via the "Pay e-Cheque" portal www.payecheque.gov.hk;
 
(3) by sending a crossed cheque to the Treasury, PO Box 28000, Gloucester Road Post Office, Hong Kong (please note that mail with underpaid postage will be rejected); or
 
(4) in person at any of the post offices or designated convenience stores. For the addresses and opening hours of post offices, please call Hongkong Post's hotline (2921 2222), or visit www.hongkongpost.hk.
 
     If demand notes have not been received, members of the public may call 2152 0111, fax 2152 0113, or visit the Rating and Valuation Department, 15/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon.
 
     Members of the public can also visit the department's website at www.rvd.gov.hk to obtain replacement demand notes or enquire about the amount payable. For instant payment, payers may obtain a "payment QR code" from the "Account Enquiries" service at the website by using mobile devices and present it at any post office, 7-Eleven, Circle K or VanGo in Hong Kong.
 
     A surcharge of 5 per cent will be imposed for late payment and a further surcharge of 10 per cent will be levied on the amount (including the 5 per cent surcharge) that remains unpaid six months after the payment deadline.
 
     To support environmental protection, payers are advised to utilise the free eRVD Bill service to receive e-bills and make payments. They are also encouraged to settle bills by autopay or other means of e-payment (e.g. PPS, ATM, the Internet or e-Cheque/e-Cashier's Order) in order to save queuing time. Application forms for autopay are obtainable from the Rating and Valuation Department, District Offices and major banks in Hong Kong or by telephoning 2152 0111. Payers may also download the form from the department's website.




Applications invited for operation of green minibus routes

     The Transport Department (TD) published a Gazette notice today (July 5) to invite applications for passenger service licences for the operation of five packages of 12 public light bus (scheduled) routes (green minibus routes) in the New Territories, Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island.

     The five packages are:

(1) between Tsing Yi Public Pier and Princess Margaret Hospital;
     between Wong Nai Tau andWan Tau Tong;
     between Shek Mun and Wan Tau Tong; and
     between Ma Liu Shui Ferry Pier and Wan Tau Tong;

(2) between Po Lam and Chun Cheong Street;
     between Po Lam and Kowloon Bay; and
     Haven of Hope Hospital and Po Lam Public Transport Interchange (Circular);

(3) between Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Yuen Road) and Tin Shui Wai (Tin Tan Street);
     Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Yuen Road) to Long Ping Station (Circular); and
     between Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road) and Kong Tau Tsuen;

(4) Sheung Wan (Hollywood Road) to Caine Road (Circular);

(5) between Choi Hing Court and Kai Tak.

     Application forms are obtainable free of charge from the following offices:

(a) TD New Territories Regional Office, 7/F, Mongkok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Kowloon; and
(b) TD Hong Kong Licensing Office, 3/F, United Centre, 95 Queensway, Hong Kong.
     
     Applicants should refer to the details of the public light bus (scheduled) routes and "Guidance Notes for Applicants" attached in the application form when completing the application form.

     Completed application forms must be submitted in a plain white envelope sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope with "Application for Passenger Service Licence(s) in Respect of the Packages of Public Light Bus (Scheduled) Routes Gazetted in July 2019" and placed in the TD Tender Box located at the reception counter of the TD Headquarters at 10/F of South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, before noon on August 16 (Friday). Applications by any other means or submitted late will not be considered.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 5) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at Deep Water Bay Beach, Repulse Bay Beach, St Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District; and Clear Water Bay First Beach Sai Kung District. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at these beaches.
