Early closure of Tung Chung Swimming Pool

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (September 1) that due to special circumstances nearby, Tung Chung Swimming Pool in Islands District has been closed. Subject to the situation, more cultural and leisure facilities in the same district and any other districts which may be affected will also be closed early and at short notice to ensure the safety of venue users. Members of the public who plan to go to those venues are advised to contact the venues concerned in advance.

Protestors trespass on railway

     At around 4pm today (September 1), a large group of protestors hurled numerous iron poles, bricks and rocks onto the track near the Airport Station of the Airport Express. Some even trespassed on the track, seriously obstructing train services.

     The Police will soon conduct a dispersal operation and warn the protestors to stop their illegal acts and leave immediately.




Lifesaving services suspended at Hap Mun Bay, Kiu Tsui and Trio beaches

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (September 1) that as lifeguards are unable to go to Hap Mun Bay Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach and Trio Beach in Sai Kung District by ferries due to rough sea condition, lifesaving services at these beaches have been suspended until further notice.  Beach-goers are advised not to swim at these beaches until further notice.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (September 1) that due to inclement weather, red flag has been hoisted at Kiu Tsui Beach in Sai Kung District.  Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.
