     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (November 22) that Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pool in Sai Kung District has been temporarily closed for cleaning and superchlorination following the discovery of a small amount of vomit in the pool.

     It will be reopened at 7pm today.

     The department appeals to swimmers to be considerate and to keep the swimming pools clean. They are advised not to swim after a full meal and should use the toilet facilities if necessary before swimming.

     The Tuen Mun District Office announced today (November 22) that the telephone service of the Tuen Mun Home Affairs Enquiry Centre (HAEC) has returned to normal. The service had been temporarily suspended earlier due to the malfunctioning of the telephone system of Tuen Mun Government Offices.

     The telephone number of the Tuen Mun HAEC is 2451 1151.

     The Major Sports Events Committee (MSEC) has awarded "M" Mark status to the 2019-2020 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup, Hong Kong, China, which will be held from November 29 to December 1.
 
     The Chairman of the MSEC, Mr Karl Kwok, said today (November 22) that this event, like all "M" Mark events, will add colour and vibrancy to Hong Kong and provide an opportunity for the general public to watch high-level competition.
 
     "'M' Mark events reinforce Hong Kong's position as the events capital of Asia," Mr Kwok said.
 
     "'M' Mark events also help generate economic benefits for Hong Kong by attracting tourists, and they instil a sustainable sporting culture in the community and help foster social cohesion," he added.
 
     The "M" Mark System was launched in 2004 to help local national sports associations organise more major sports events and nurture them into sustainable undertakings. Sports events meeting the assessment criteria will be granted "M" Mark status by the MSEC. Funding support will also be provided to some of the event organisers.
 
     The number of recognised "M" Mark events increased from four in 2005 to 15 in 2019. So far, around $184.61 million has been approved to support recognised "M" Mark events.

     The effective exchange rate index for the Hong Kong dollar on Friday, November 22, 2019 is 106.4 (same as yesterday's index).

     Police advise motorists that special traffic arrangements will be implemented in Sha Tin to facilitate the race meeting tomorrow (November 23).

     The arrangements will come into effect two hours before the start of the first race and will last until the crowds have dispersed after the race meeting.

     Appropriate traffic signs will be put up and police will be on hand to guide motorists.

     The Police also appeal to people going to Sha Tin Racecourse for the race meeting and to Happy Valley Racecourse for cross betting to make maximum use of public transport.

     Parking spaces at the two racecourses are available only to holders of appropriate permits issued by Hong Kong Jockey Club and any vehicles illegally parked will be towed away.
