Appeal for information on missing man in Wong Tai Sin (with photo)

     Police today (January 3) appealed to the public for information on a man who went missing in Wong Tai Sin.

     Tang Chi-keung, aged 61, went missing after he was last seen on Heng Lam Street in the small hours yesterday (January 2). His family made a report to Police on the same day.

     He is about 1.64 metres tall, 50 kilograms in weight and of medium build. He has a round face with yellow complexion and is bald. He was last seen wearing a green long-sleeved shirt, blue trousers and blue slippers.

     Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing man or may have seen him is urged to contact the Regional Missing Person Unit of Kowloon East on 3661 0316 or 9886 0060 or email to rmpu-ke-2@police.gov.hk, or contact any police station.

Import of poultry meat and products from Lubartowski District of Lubelskie in Poland suspended

     The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department announced today (January 3) that in view of a notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N8 avian influenza in the Lubartowski District of Lubelskie in Poland, the CFS has instructed the trade to suspend the import of poultry meat and products, including poultry eggs, from the district with immediate effect to protect public health in Hong Kong.

     A CFS spokesman said that Hong Kong imported about 13 060 tonnes of frozen poultry meat and 23.2 million poultry eggs from Poland in the first nine months of last year, according to the Census and Statistics Department.

     "The CFS has contacted the Polish authorities over the issue and will closely monitor information issued by the OIE on avian influenza outbreaks. Appropriate action will be taken in response to the development of the situation," the spokesman said.




Appeal for information on missing girl in Tsuen Wan (with photo)

     Police today (January 3) appealed to the public for information on a girl who went missing in Tsuen Wan.

     Su Xiaoting, aged 14, went missing after she left her residence on Yi Pei Square on December 8, 2019 morning. Her family made a report to Police on December 12, 2019.

     She is about 1.7 metres tall, 43 kilograms in weight and of thin build. She has a long face with yellow complexion and long straight black hair. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black short jeans and black and white sports shoes.

Re-appointment of Chairman of Air Transport Licensing Authority

     The Government announced today (January 3) the re-appointment of the incumbent Chairman, Mr Ambrose Ho, to the Air Transport Licensing Authority for two years from January 8, 2020.
      
     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, said, "We are confident that under Mr Ho's chairmanship, the team of serving members, with their expertise and background in different sectors, will continue to make valuable contributions to the work of the Authority in facilitating the development of air services in Hong Kong."
      
     The Authority is an independent statutory body established under the Air Transport (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations, Cap. 448 sub. leg. A. It is responsible for considering applications from airlines of Hong Kong for licences to operate scheduled services to and from Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the said regulations.
      
     The re-appointment has been published in the Government Gazette today.
