Lowering customs duty rates for goods exported from Russia outside Customs Union member states

Starting 1 September 2017, export customs duty rates will be reduced for untreated animal hides, ferrous waste and scrap, refined copper and copper alloys, and items made from non-precious metals.

The resolution was drafted by the Ministry of Economic Development in line with Russia’s international commitments in connection with its accession to the World Trade Organisation.

Customs duty rates for goods exported from Russia outside states that are parties to the Customs Union agreements are approved by Government Resolution  No 754 of 30 August 2013.

Under the resolution, export customs duty rates for untreated animal hides, ferrous waste and scrap, refined copper and copper alloys, and items made from non-precious metals will be lowered as of 1 September 2017.

The draft resolution was approved during a session of the sub-commission on customs tariff and non-tariff regulation and protection of foreign trade of the Government Commission for Economic Development and Integration. 




On 13 September, Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri will discuss investment cooperation prospects in Moscow

On 13 September 2017, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will meet with Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri, who will be in Russia on a working visit.

During the meeting, the two heads of government will discuss the state of and prospects for the development of Russian-Lebanese trade, economic, investment and humanitarian relations, and a range of other issues.




Re-equipping the UN World Food Programme auto fleet with Russian-made vehicles

The signed resolution provides for up to 535 million roubles to be allocated in 2017-2018 to implement the next phase of the UN World Food Programme project to replace trucks used for transporting humanitarian aid with Russian-made vehicles, and up to $1.5 million as a special-purpose contribution to the WFP fund for the development of logistics capacity, including the integration of KamAZ trucks into regional fleets of WFP trucks. Funds for these purposes are envisaged in the federal budget.

The document was developed by the Ministry of Finance in accordance with Presidential Directive No 274-rp of 27 July 2017 and the international obligations of the Russian Federation stipulated by the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the United Nations World Food Programme (hereinafter, respectively, the Agreement, WFP ) for 2014-2017. The agreement was signed in 2014 in accordance with the Government Directive No 1384-r of 24 July 2014.

Under the Agreement, Russia makes financial contributions to the WFP fund, paying particular attention to increasing the WFP auto fleet by providing KamAZ trucks and other related equipment.

The signed resolution provides for up to 535 million roubles to be allocated in 2017-2018 to implement the next phase of the UN World Food Programme project to replace trucks used for transporting humanitarian aid with Russian-made vehicles, and up to $1.5 million to pay a special-purpose contribution to the WFP fund for the development of logistics capacity, including the integration of KamAZ trucks into regional fleets of WFP trucks. The adopted decisions expand the range of areas of Russia’s cooperation with international humanitarian organisations of the UN system and the participation of Russian technical experts in the work of WFP on personnel training and vehicle maintenance.
