Measures implementing the Presidential Executive Order extending special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation

The ban on the import of certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and food has been extended from 1 January to 31 December 2019.

The document has been prepared in keeping with the Russian President’s Executive Order No. 420 dated 12 July 2018, On Extending Certain Special Economic Measures to Ensure the Security of the Russian Federation.

The resolution introduces amendments to Government Resolution No. 778 dated 7 August 2014, On Measures to Implement the Russian President’s Executive Orders No. 560 dated 6 August 2014, No. 320 dated 24 June 2015, No. 305 dated 29 June 2016 and No. 293 dated 30 June 2017.

The ban on the import of certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuff originating from the United States of America, the EU member countries, Canada, Australia, the Kingdom of Norway, Ukraine, the Republic of Albania, Montenegro, the Republic of Iceland and the Principality of Liechtenstein has been extended from 1 January to 31 December 2019.

These restrictions are designed to expand the special economic countermeasures against certain states based on the extent of their involvement in the sanctions regime against Russia.




Dmitry Medvedev to chair meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in St Petersburg from 26 to 27 July

From 26 to 27 July, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will take place in St Petersburg, with the participation of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting will focus on issues of digital development among the Eurasian Economic Union member states, interaction in energy and transport, industrial and customs cooperation, and improving the Eurasian Economic Union’s regulatory and legal framework.

At the instruction of President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev led the Russian delegation that arrived in Turkey to attend the inauguration ceremony of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Before the inauguration Dmitry Medvedev had brief conversations with President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, President of Moldova Igor Dodon and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
