Police dispersal operation underway in the vicinity of Mong Kok Police Station

Attention duty announcers, radio and TV stations:

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

Since around 8.30pm today (September 6), a group of protestors have been gathering on the roads in the vicinity of Mong Kok Police Station. Some were holding offensive weapons. Some dug up bricks from pavements and threw hard objects at the police station. Violent protestors dismantled railings from roadsides and traffic lights and pointed laser beams at Police officers. Since the situation is drastically deteriorating, Police are now conducting a dispersal operation with possible use of tear gas.

Police appeal to the protestors to leave the area at once and not to charge Police cordon lines. Members of the public should avoid travelling to the area. Residents in the vicinity are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows shut if necessary.
