Egyptian fighter plane crashes in training accident

CAIRO: An Egyptian fighter plane crashed on Sunday while training, the Egyptian army said.

Gharib Abdel-Hafez, a military spokesman, said on Facebook that the crew survived and that no damage was caused on the ground. He did not identify the location of the crash, which he said was caused by a technical malfunction.

Another technical malfunction caused a fighter plane to crash during training in June. The pilot survived that accident, the spokesman added.

A video of a statement by Farideh Moradkhani, an engineer whose late father was a prominent opposition figure married to Khamenei’s sister, was being widely shared online after what activist news agency HRANA said was her arrest on Nov. 23.

UN World Food Program welcomes Saudi Arabia’s $6m contribution to Syrian refugees in Jordan

RIYADH: The UN World Food Program has thanked Saudi-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s $6 million contribution to provide assistance to a number of Syrian refugee families in Jordanian camps, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

The aid will help meet the food needs of more than 50,000 refugees — nearly half the population in the Zaatari and Azraq camps — for three months.

The parliament has not taken a decision yet despite its discussion over the past few days.
The amendments focus on the activation of two laws: one issued in 2010 banning organ sales, which has not yet been fully implemented due to the revolution in 2011, and one issued in 1962 regarding the organization of the eye bank.
