Latest arrangements for EMSD public services

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) announced today (April 20) that the EMSD Gallery will be reopened starting from tomorrow (April 21). In view of the epidemic, special measures will be implemented, which include limiting admission and requesting all visitors to wear surgical masks, use hand sanitiser and have their body temperature checked before admission, while all interactive exhibits will remain suspended. For enquiries, please call the EMSD's hotline for the Education Path at 3757 6162 or email edpath@emsd.gov.hk.

In addition, the Registration and Permit Office (RPO) at its Kowloon Bay headquarters will continue to maintain normal public services. Opening hours of the RPO will be 9am to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday. Crowd control measures have been implemented, which may lead to longer waiting time for counter services. The public can register for counter services in advance via its online booking system (rpobooking.emsd.gov.hk). Meanwhile, the public can still access relevant services through the EMSD website or mobile application, the GovHK website, by post or the collection box located at the ground floor lobby of the EMSD headquarters. Applicants will be notified of the results by phone or mail.

The EMSD appeals to the public to minimise visiting its headquarters in person unless necessary, and consider submitting their applications for services via the above-mentioned channels. Members of the public should wear surgical masks at all times during their visits to the EMSD headquarters and comply with the infection and crowd control measures including temperature checks and using the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app.

The EMSD will continue to monitor the situation closely and review the arrangements in a timely manner. For enquiries, please call 2333 3762 or email info@emsd.gov.hk.
