Interactive lighting installation “Magic Behind the Moon” to light up Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza (with photos)

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will exhibit an interactive lighting installation entitled "Magic Behind the Moon" at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Piazza from August 30 (Friday) until September 22 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The installation deploys new media arts to present traditional elements of the festival such as the full moon and rabbits. There will be projections onto the HKCC's facade, pool and viewing deck creating different effects including the moon's movement and the full moon. Special lighting will also be added to the pool to present a refreshing visual experience for visitors. Members of the public may also interact with four giant inflatable rabbits with the use of augmented reality effects. In addition, an animation of a birthday blessing will be projected onto the facade in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the HKCC.

The LCSD will also hold three lantern carnivals showcasing a variety of performances and lantern displays. The details are as follows:

1. Urban Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival

   Victoria Park

2. New Territories East Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival

3. New Territories West Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival
