The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has undergone a successful Cataract surgery at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), in Hyderabad today. Dr. Pravin Krishna Vaddavalli and his team conducted the surgery and was discharged thereafter.

“I will be visiting Qingdao in China for the annual meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh said that nine new Battalions will be constituted. Of these, two would be for the areas near the border. He said that the Ministry has sanctioned two new women battalions for J&K police: one for Kashmir Division and for Jammu Division that would provide employment to around 2000 women from the state.

On 08th Jun 2018, at around 0930 hrs at Air Force Station Jamnagar an incident involving a Jaguar aircraft happened while on the landing roll.   Aircraft sustained minor damages with no injuries to the pilot after he ejected safely.

During the bye-election to 2-Kairana and 11-Bhandara-Gondiya Parliamentary Constituencies on 28th May 2018, malfunctioning of a few VVPAT machines was reported during the mock poll and actual poll. To ascertain the causes of failure, the Commission deputed two Special Teams.
