These standard rules allow you to store and treat waste wood at a specified location. Permitted wastes do not include hazardous wastes.

The total quantity of waste you can store and treat under these standard rules is no more than 5,000 tonnes per year.

These standard rules do not permit the burning of any wastes, either in the open, inside buildings or in any form of incinerator.

Statutory guidance: SR2015 No 16: metal recycling site

These standard rules allow you to operate a metal recycling site at a specified location.

Using hand-held equipment only, these rules permit the following activities for ferrous metals or alloys and non-ferrous metals for recovery:

  • sorting
  • separation
  • grading
  • shearing
  • baling
  • compacting
  • granulating of cables
  • cutting

The total quantity of waste that can be accepted at a site under these rules must be less than 25,000 tonnes a year.

The rules will not permit the burning of any waste, either in the open, inside buildings or in any form of incinerator.
