Missing girl in Tsuen Wan located

     A girl who went missing in Tsuen Wan has been located.
      
     Su Xiaoting, aged 14, went missing after she left her residence on Yi Pei Square on December 8, 2019. Her family made a report to Police on December 12.
           
     The girl was located on Man Kwong Street, Central yesterday afternoon (April 24).
 




LCSD appeals to public to avoid swimming and gathering at temporarily closed beaches

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) appealed to members of the public today (April 25) that, in view of the situation of COVID-19 and the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap 599G), gazetted beaches are temporarily closed and lifesaving services at the beaches are suspended. The public should neither swim nor gather at the beaches to achieve social distancing and to avoid accidents.

     Staff of the LCSD will step up patrols of the beaches concerned. Appropriate follow-up action will be taken against any violation of relevant regulations.




Territory-wide flag-selling activity cancelled

     The Social Welfare Department (SWD) has been informed by Breakthrough, Limited that the territory-wide flag-selling activity in public places scheduled to be held today (April 25) has been cancelled, a spokesman for the SWD said.

Applications for subsidy scheme for tenants of cooked food/light refreshment stalls at FEHD markets to start on April 27

     â€‹The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (April 24) announced that applications for the subsidy scheme for tenants of cooked food/light refreshment stalls at FEHD markets under the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will start next Monday (April 27).
      
     An FEHD spokesman said, "Under the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemics, the Government has imposed social distancing measures, issuing directions under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirement and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (the Regulation) (Cap. 599F) to restrict the operation of catering business. The business of catering outlets selling or supplying food and beverages for consumption on their premises have been hard hit by the epidemics and the social distancing measures. The FEHD provides immediate financial relief to tenants of cooked food/light refreshment stalls at its markets."
      
     The subsidy scheme for tenants of cooked food/light refreshment stalls at FEHD markets will provide a one-off subsidy of $50,000 for each eligible stall.
      
     Eligible market stall tenants should submit their applications to their corresponding District Environmental Hygiene Office of the FEHD or the corresponding Market Office of the related markets in person or by mail. The deadline for application is May 27. The target is that upon receipt of the completed application form and supporting documents and after verification, the disbursement of subsidies could generally be made in approximately two weeks by crossed cheques to the correspondence address indicated by the market stall tenants registered with the FEHD.
      
     The application form and guidelines can be downloaded from the website of the FEHD (www.fehd.gov.hk) or be obtained from District Environmental Hygiene Offices of the FEHD starting from next Monday (April 27). Tenants of cooked food/light refreshment stalls of FEHD markets can also obtain their related application forms from the corresponding Market Office of the related markets.      Other than the above subsidy scheme, to assist small and medium enterprises to cope with the pressure on their operations under the current economic environment, the measures of the second round of the Anti-Epidemic Fund also included an increase of rental concession for FEHD market stalls from 50 per cent to 75 per cent from April to September 2020.




Applications for subsidy schemes for commercial bathhouse and places of public entertainment licence holders to start on April 27

     â€‹The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (April 24) announced that applications for the subsidy schemes for commercial bathhouse licence holders and places of public entertainment licence holders under the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will start next Monday (April 27).
      
     An FEHD spokesman said, "Commercial bathhouses and places of public entertainment are affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemics and required to be closed under the directions issued under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (the Regulation) (Cap. 599F). The schemes aim to provide immediate financial relief to the relevant licence holders whose businesses have been hard-hit by the epidemics and social distancing measures imposed by the Government."
      
     The Commercial Bathhouse Subsidy Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 to each eligible licence holder of a commercial bathhouse. The Places of Public Entertainment Licence (PPEL) Holder Subsidy Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 for each eligible holder of a PPEL (excluding cinema operators eligible under the Cinemas Subsidy Scheme) and $20,000 for each eligible holder of a temporary PPEL (TPPEL).
      
     Eligible licence holders should submit their applications in person or by mail. The deadline for application is May 27. The target is that upon receipt of the completed application form and supporting documents and after verification, the disbursement of subsidies could generally be made in approximately two weeks by crossed cheques to the corresponding licenced premises or the correspondence address indicated by holders for TPPEL.
