ISD suspends publication and photo sales counter services

     In view of the latest situation of COVID-19 and to align with measures to reduce social contact, the Information Services Department today (July 19) announced that the sales counter services of the department's Publications Sales Unit and Photo Library at North Point Government Offices will be temporarily suspended from tomorrow (July 20) until further notice.

     The public can continue to buy government publications through the Online Government Bookstore (www.bookstore.gov.hk) and by:

  • calling the Publications Sales Unit on 2537 1910;
  • downloading an order form from the ISD website (www.isd.gov.hk) and submitting the form online or by fax to 2523 7195; or
  • emailing puborder@isd.gov.hk.

     Government photos can be purchased from the online Government Photo Store (www.photostore.gov.hk).




Latest arrangement of ICAC services

     â€‹In light of the latest situation of the COVID-19 epidemic and to align with the government's measures to reduce the risk of the spread of virus in the community, the ICAC announced that except those who are providing essential and emergency public services, all other staff will work from home starting from tomorrow (July 20) till next Sunday (July 26).
      
     The ICAC's Report Centre and the report corruption hotline (2526 6366) will continue to operate round-the-clock to receive corruption complaints and enquiries. All other enquiry hotlines, including the Corruption Prevention Advisory Service hotline (2526 6363), Business Ethics Development Centre hotline (2826 3288), Clean Elections hotline (2920 7878) and the Integrity Building Management hotline (2929 4555) will also maintain their normal operation.
      
     All ICAC Regional Offices will be closed during the period.
      
     The ICAC will continue to review the latest situation of the epidemic and adjust relevant measures as and when necessary. Further announcement will be made in due course.




LCSD outsourced cleansing workers tests positive for COVID-19

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (July 19) said that two outsourced cleansing service contractor workers have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

     The two outsourced cleansing worker concerned worked at the children playground, skatepark and amphitheatre of Po Kong Village Road Park in Wong Tai Sin District, and Shek Pai Street Park and Shek Lei Adventure Playground in Kwai Tsing District. They last performed duties on July 17. They felt unwell earlier and sought medical treatment, and were notified at night of July 17 that they had preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. They were admitted to hospital and have been treated under isolation. They are now in stable condition.

     The cleansing workers concerned have no recent travel history. They wore surgical masks when performing duties, and their body temperatures were normal when undergoing temperature screening during work.

     The LCSD will arrange thorough cleaning and sterilisation at areas of the Po Kong Village Road Park, Shek Pai Street Park and Shek Lai Adventure Playground as well as its facilities. All ball courts, practice areas, cycling track, skatepark, fitness corners and children’s playgrounds have been temporarily closed earlier.

     The LCSD is highly concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection. Staff are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.




Protestors unlawfully gathered at YOHO Mall in Yuen Long and Police entered the mall to enforce the law

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:
     
     At around 4pm today (July 19), protestors gathered inside YOHO Mall, Yuen Long, suspected to have breached the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Group Gathering) Regulation (Cap. 599G). Police officers have entered the mall to enforce the law and warn the protestors to leave immediately or they will risk being summoned.

     It must be emphasized that during the pandemic, any group gathering may increase the risk of transmission of diseases. Police remind all members of the public not to participate in any unauthorised assembly or prohibited group gatherings.




GLD’s latest service arrangement

     The Government Logistics Department (GLD) announces today (July 19) that the provision of Gazette service will continue. Meanwhile, starting from July 20 (Monday), the GLD Collection Office on 10/F North Point Government Offices will provide collection of Gazette fee services on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm until further notice.  For enquiries, please call 2537 1910 from Monday to Friday between from 9am and 6pm.
