Latest arrangements for public services of Land Registry

      To align with the special work arrangement for government departments announced by the Government today (July 19) and to achieve more rigorous social distancing to reduce the risk of further spreading of COVID-19 in the community, the Land Registry announced that the opening hours of its offices will be adjusted as follows with effect from tomorrow (July 20) until further notice to provide emergency and essential public services:

     (1) between 9am and 1.30pm from Monday to Friday other than a public holiday for the purpose of delivering instruments for registration; and
      
     (2) between 9am and 12.30pm from Monday to Friday other than a public holiday for other purposes.
      
     Customers may also deposit documents to be delivered to the Land Registry (excluding instruments to be delivered for registration) in the Drop-in Box located near the Information Counter on the Deck Floor, High Block of Queensway Government Offices between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday other than a public holiday.

     Under the special work arrangement, customers may expect a longer waiting time for service.  Customers are encouraged to conduct land searches through our online search service (www.iris.gov.hk) as far as possible, and visit our offices only if they require services urgently.  For enquiries, please call the Land Registry hotline at 3105 0000.




Latest arrangements for EMSD public services

     In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) announced today (July 19) that the Registration and Permit Office at its Kowloon Bay headquarters will be closed from tomorrow (July 20) until further notice. During the period, members of the public may submit their applications, with cheques for payment, by post to 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon Bay or through the drop-in box located at the G/F lobby of its headquarters during office hours (9am to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday). Submitted applications would be processed promptly and applicants would be notified on the results by phone or mail.
      
     The EMSD Gallery and the EMSD Education Path at its headquarters will also be closed until further notice.

Public service on Registration Cards for People with Disabilities

     The Labour and Welfare Bureau (LWB) today (July 19) announced that, in light of the work-from-home arrangements for government employees starting from tomorrow (July 20), persons intending to apply for Registration Cards for People with Disabilities can download the application forms from the LWB's website (www.lwb.gov.hk/en/servicedesk/forms). Duly completed application forms with the required documents can be submitted via the LWB's website by e-submission, or posted to Central Registry for Rehabilitation, Labour and Welfare Bureau, Unit 1001, 10/F, THE HUB, 23 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong.

Latest service arrangements of Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency

     In light of the Government's announcement on the special work arrangement for government employees and the latest development of the epidemic, the offices of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA), including those at the Student Finance Office (SFO) and the Working Family Allowance Office (WFAO), will adjust the service arrangements from tomorrow (July 20) to July 26. All service counters will be temporarily closed during the above period. Appointments for counter services and interviews scheduled will also be cancelled.

     Applicants for student finance schemes, the Working Family Allowance Scheme and the Individual-based Work Incentive Transport Subsidy Scheme may submit their applications by post, online or through the drop-in boxes at the SFO and the WFAO. Due to the special work arrangements, the processing of applications may take a longer time.

Special arrangement for CAD’s Personnel Licensing Office counter service

     In response to the special work arrangement for Government employees announced by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Civil Aviation Department today (July 19) announced that the walk-in counter service of the department's Personnel Licensing Office (PELO) will be temporarily suspended from tomorrow (July 20) and only services scheduled by prior appointment will be maintained. The arrangement will be implemented tentatively for a week until July 26.
